Former A-League executive to head Visit Victoria's Major Events

Former Head of A-League Damien de Bohun is to spearhead Victoria’s work in attracting major events, joining Visit Victoria as its new General Manager of Major Events, partnering with Chief Executive Peter Bingeman to continue growing the state’s world-class calendar.

At Football Federation Australian de Bohun was a key architect of the successful FFA Cup and the National Youth League competitions. He has also served as Chief Executive of the Leukaemia Foundation, and previously worked for Cricket Australia.

Commenting on the appointment, Victoria’s acting Minister for Tourism and Major Events Philip Dalidakis stated “as a respected figure in sporting, corporate and events circles, (Damien) is equipped to secure the big blockbusters that create jobs, boost the economy and showcase the best of everything in Victoria.”

Visit Victoria was established by the Victorian Government earlier this year as a “once-in-a-generation shakeup” of Victoria’s strategy for tourism and major events, merging bodies promoting major events, business events and tourism bodies.

de Bohun will begin his new role this month.
