Foo Fighters partner with Young Henrys craft brewery to deliver tour-branded lager
In one of the more innovative entertainment and hospitality cross promotions of recent years, American rockers the Foo Fighters collaborated with Sydney-based craft brewery Young Henrys during their recent Australian tour to deliver a specifically branded ‘Foo Town’ lager.
Suggested by promoter Live Nation Australia, the innovation was developed in conjunction with the band’s Concrete and Gold album and tour.
It delivered a “crisp and fresh Australian lager” available at Sydney’s Hotel Hollywood, Melbourne’s Cherry Bar and at a range of other outlets.
Commenting on the link, Young Henrys Chief Executive Oscar McMahon told entertainment guide Broadsheet “the Foo Fighters have done pop-up pubs in other countries before, and during the planning conversations of the Sydney and Melbourne ones, the question was asked: ‘Is there an Australian beer company we could work with to create a beer for the tour?’
“Thankfully we were front of mind and deemed a good fit from ‘Camp Foo’ due to the fact (we have) a history of working on fun projects with good people and is passionate about spreading the good word on live music in Australia by supporting artists, tours and venues in whatever ways we can.”
The Foo Fighters’ Australian Concrete and Gold tour commenced in Perth on 20th January and ended on 30th January at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
