Fitness First personal trainer involved in alleged steroid and drug sales

A personal trainer working out of Fitness First's prestigious Platinum club in Sydney's Bondi Junction has been arrested for allegedly selling steroids, cocaine and ecstasy.

Sydney newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported that Lee Clark, an independent personal trainer who worked out of the Fitness First Bondi Platinum gym at Bondi Junction, was arrested allegedly in possession of $155,000 in cash as well as a major quantity of drugs.

NSW Police are now scrutinising Clark’s client list as part of ongoing inquiries by detectives.

Management at the Fitness First club, who are not under investigation, are assisting NSW Police in their inquiries.

Clark has since been suspended by Fitness First who have issued the following statement:

“Fitness First has a strict policy against any illegal or unethical practices either at the clubs or by people associated with Fitness First. We have absolutely no tolerance for drug use.

“Our franchised personal trainers are not permitted to sell any items in our Clubs to our members.

“In keeping with Fitness First’s strict policy regarding drugs or other illegal substances, any staff member or franchisee in breach of their contract will have their contract terminated and the relevant authorities will be notified.

“Fitness First has an agreement in effect, which means that all Fitness First staff and franchisees must fully cooperate with the Fitness First drug testing policy.”
