Fitness First marks 10 years in the Middle East
Global fitness group Fitness First has marked 10 years of operations in the Middle East - since opening its first club at Dubai’s Ibn Battuta Mall in January 2006.
Owned by the Landmark Group, Fitness First now has more than 60 clubs in the region.
The 10 years have seen a series of achievements, including the Arabian Gulf’s first ladies only clubs, which according to a company spokesperson “took the Middle East to new heights, offering a facility where ladies can feel free to exercise with confidence and privacy, as well as the best classes, equipment and service.”
During its 10 years, Fitness First has pioneered fitness concepts such as MYZONE, XFit, Swing Yoga, Freestyle Group Training, T.U.F.F. and Nutrition by Fitness First.
Commenting on the decade of Fitness First’s achievements, Fitness First Middle East Chief Operating Officer George Flooks stated “the milestone not only marks off a decade of our excellence in fitness innovation and workout solutions but is also a flag point for us to race further as we continue to motivate people to lead a healthy, active and energetic life.
“The difference lies in our unparalleled expertise at offering the latest innovation and state-of-the-art fitness offerings, world-class club spaces, internationally accredited trainers and friendly customer service.”
As part of its 10 years anniversary celebrations, Fitness First is offering 10 months of membership for the price of six months and a 10% discount on three and six personal training sessions.
Members who joined Fitness First in 2006 will also be honoured with an upgrade to platinum plus membership statues which will entitle them to access community and platinum clubs.
A referral program is also made available where members referring friends to join in receive a specially designed 10-year anniversary T-shirt. A lucky draw will be conducted exclusively within the UAE clubs for surprising gifts.
Flooks added “we enter this year with an enormous sense of pride and accomplishment not only in terms of our fitness offerings but also the profound legacy of our trainers and club members who actively use our facilities and live our dream of being world-class trainers and fitness experts.
“We are elated to see that not only are our offerings embraced but also further developed with ingenuity to establish a leading position in the fitness industry.”
Sharing further expansion plans, George Flooks announced “we are geared up for more (with) our exclusive Xfit studio that’s coming up in Uptown Mirdif in Dubai soon. We also have clubs coming up at Bawabat Al Sharq in Abu Dhabi, Juffair Mall in Bahrain and at Fintas in Kuwait.”
Expressing her satisfaction on a decade of fitness experience with Fitness First, the group’s oldest club member Nader Najia stated “I began training with Fitness First 10 years back (with a) goal to improve my balance, endurance and stamina.
“But with the excellent fitness facilities and encouraging trainers I noticed that my strength was improving as well as my motivation. All this would not have happened without Fitness First. Thanks again for helping me maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.”
