Fitness Australia member named South Australia’s Top personal trainer

People power and fitness prowess have proved the winning formula for Hayley Carger in being named South Australia’s Top Personal Trainer.

Fitness Australia member Carger from Orangetheory, Hawthorn and V2 FIT, St Marys has turned a loved of sport into helping others achieve their goals through fitness, with a focus on strength and conditioning, to give her career a purpose she is proud of.

Carger (pictured) explains “I didn’t really know what I wanted to do when I left school but I did know that uni and TAFE weren’t for me. I turned to fitness and I’ve never looked back. To find a career that I love, one that is rewarding everyday and allows me to meet new people makes me feel very fortunate.

“Watching people achieve their goals and feel a little better about themselves through fitness is very rewarding. I know that what I do has a purpose and makes a difference in people’s lives.”

Describing herself as a quiet achiever, Carger said winning South Australia’s best Personal Trainer through the Adelaide Advertiser was an honour.

“I’ve always just put my head down, focused on what I love and got the job done. To see so many votes come in for me and be recognised by The Advertiser as the state’s Top PT is certainly a career highlight.”

In addition to SA’s Top PT award, Carger was recently named one of Orangetheory’s top instructors having reached 1,500 classes coached in Australia.

Advising that said the award was fantastic recognition for Carger, a Fitness Australia member since 2013, Fitness Australia Chief Executive, Barrie Elvish stated “Hayley is a true professional and to be recognised by a public vote for her commitment to her fitness career shows that she really is making a difference in the lives of so many people.

“She is a fantastic ambassador for Fitness Australia and our PT professionals who are dedicated and passionate about striving for excellence with their clients.”

Carger, who turns 30 years of age this month, said a career in fitness can be lifechanging but very rewarding, adding “for anyone considering a career in fitness, it’s one that will change your whole life for the better. The people you get to meet, the growth opportunities and goals you and your clients achieve together are awesome.

“My advice to anyone taking the leap is be willing to work hard, surround yourself with great mentors who you can access through Fitness Australia and most of all, enjoy it! Life is too short to not love your career -if you are passionate and dedicated what are you waiting for?”

South Australia’s ‘Top PT’ was an initiative of The Advertiser, which was open to all personal trainers across the state. Fitness Australia supported the award with the winner receiving 12 months complimentary Fitness Australia membership.
