Fitness Australia celebrate win at National Preventive Health Awards
Fitness Australia has received a Healthy Workplace Award at the inaugural National Preventive Health Awards winning in the Small Workplace Category.
Acknowledged leadership in the area of preventive health, the Awards recognise sectors of the Australian community that are working hard to promote the importance of good health and well-being.
Fitness Australia's healthy workplace initiative addresses three key areas:-increasing physical activity; providing education on healthier eating options and supporting stress management. Evaluations of the program to date see the goals and objectives set in the development of the program are making a difference to their workplace.
Fitness Australia would also like to commend the Australian National Preventive Health Agency (ANPHA) for the opportunity and recognition the award brings.
The Awards were presented at a formal ceremony at Parliament House in Canberra on Friday 26th July 2013 where ANPHA also released the State of Preventive Health Report 2013, a comprehensive overview of the current health challenges facing Australians in relation to chronic disease.
