Final Reminder for AALARA Award Seminar

The Australian Amusement, Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA) is conducting a 'Know Your Modern Award Information Session' in Sydney this Wednesday.

The session, covering the Amusement, Events and Recreation Award 2010 and the Travelling Shows Award 2010 will be held from 12.30pm to 2pm on Wednesday, 3rd February 2010 at the Australian Federation of Employers & Industries, Level 2, 97-99 Bathurst Street, Sydney

The seminar is free for AALARA financial members.

Since 2008, AALARA has taken a lead in preparing the industry for the fourth and final stage of Award Modernisation, undertaken by the Australian Industrial Relations Commission. Completed on 4th December 2009, the release of the final modern Awards became effective on 1st January 2010.

As part of the benefits package that AALARA members receive, The Australian Federation of Employers & Industries will be offering general information on the implementation of the new modern Awards, while focusing specifically on the Amusement, Events and Recreation Award 2010 & Travelling Shows Award 2010 (and associated transitional arrangements).

This session will include:

• A brief overview of the Award Modernisation process;
• Briefing on specific terms and conditions of the above awards, with major changes highlighted from the existing NSW NAPSA or Award;
• Transitional arrangements;
• Impact of other modern Awards; and
• An opportunity to have a Workplace Relations Consultant answer your questions.

The sessions are designed for the general management, human resources or payroll staff who will be responsible for the implementation of the new Award wages and conditions.
