Fanplus platform connects fans with sport and entertainment celebrities

A new marketplace where fans can buy experiences with entertainment personalities, sports clubs and athletes is offering  a range of ‘money can’t buy’ opportunities.

The startup FanPlus (FAN+) platform offers rugby league, fitness training, golf, cricket and football experiences, allowing family, friends and fans the ability to go online and secure a memorable occasion.

Founded by former Sydney Kings Chief Executive, Rod Harys, who most recently worked as the head of sponsorship and strategy for Helloworld Travel and the Chief Commercial Officer of Volleyball Australia, FAN+ allows users to buy experiences ranging from an 1.5 hour swim with Olympian James Magnussen to a personal training session with Collingwood AFL player Adam Treloar.

Backed by a range of business identities, including Hoyts Chief Executive Damian Keogh, former APN Outdoor executive James Warburton and hotelier Dr Jerry Schwartz, the venture has raised just over $500,000 for its development.

FAN+ has also been backed by Artesian Capital, Slingshot, Scape Student Living director Craig Carracher, Pacific Equity Partners co-founder Rickard Gardell and Nudie Juice's James Ajaka, and was a participant in the Qantas AVRO accelerator program.

Designed to let sports clubs and individuals to generate an additional revenue stream, but it is also linked to a variety of charities and intends to donate a percentage of sales back to a fan's nominated foundation.

Speaking about the platform, Harys advised “by delivering these opportunities, not only has the fan walked away with an amazing experience they go on to relay their amazing experience.

“What we are also finding is that our FanPlus talent also walks away having had a great time.”
