Falls Creek opens for 2014 snow season
Falls Creek Alpine Resort opened on Saturday (7th June), promising families a great season in which to enjoy its slopes.
With the snow season running until 28th September, guests will have almost four months to make the most of the snow and enjoy Australia’s longest beginner run and a range of activities including Falls Creek’s classic dogsledding race.
New for the 2014 season, Victoria’s largest alpine resort has introduced a Flexible Multi-Day Lift Pass which allow those who purchase lift passes, group lessons or Kids Snowzone programs for five days or more and take advantage of two rest days. Lift passes of five or more days also receive bonus half day lift access from 1pm on the day prior to the first full day of riding.
For those buying their lift passes online, bundling their lesson and/or equipment hire in the same transaction can lead to:
• 10% savings on lift passes when adding lessons or rentals
• 15% savings on lift passes when adding lessons and rentals.
Also new for the 2014 is Burton Riglet Park, a snowboarding haven for the little ones where children as young as three can experience the thrill of snowboarding as they are towed through Burton Riglet Park. The Park is a specially-designed area of flat terrain located at the bottom of the Falls Express Chair featuring small bumps, ramps, rollers and toys that help teach children the fundamentals of balance and stance on a snowboard.
Burton Riglet Park has been designed for children aged three to six years, giving them an introduction to snowboarding (and providing snowboard equipment) in an easy, fun and safe environment.
Falls Creek and Hotham are the only ski resorts in Australia that host Burton Riglet Parks, making them a must visit for budding snowboarders.
Falls Creek also offers the Snow Pass - a convenient fully automated RFID access card for all guests’ lift tickets, lessons and equipment rentals. Four key resort lifts have RFID scanning gates, meaning less time in queues and more time in the snow.
Snow Passes can be reloaded online and those who register their Snow Pass online will be eligible for discounts on lift tickets.
