F45 Pacific Pines gym looks to bounce back after ‘suspicious’ fire

The franchisees of F45 Pacific Pines on the Gold Coast are looking to bounce back after their gym was destroyed by fire last month.

Queensland Police are treating the blaze, which occurred in the early hours of 16th June, as suspicious.

Speaking after the fire, Con Biviano, who started F45 gym with his brother Frank four years ago, told the Gold Coast Bulletin “it was devastating to tell you the truth, to get the phone call (from the Police) was a bit surreal.”

The fire also damaged neighbouring real estate and health care businesses.

Commenting on the fire being a potential arson attack, Biviano shared his confusion, commenting “we’ve never had any threats, we’ve never had any issues here.”

Looking to the future, he added “we built these places ourselves, I do know we’re talking about a good two or three months to get everything up and working again.”

Communicating with members via its Facebook page, management stated “(the gym) been completely burnt down but thankfully there was no one in studio at the time and thank goodness no one got hurt.”

The communication also advise that member payments would be suspended “until further notice and if anyone would like to continue training at our sister studio in Ormeau, please let us know and we can sort that out for you until we know what our next step is.”

A later Facebook post from Team Pac Pines advised “(we) so appreciative of the community  ... we have a long road ahead of us but will keep you all in the loop as we miss you guys already!”
