Expressions of Interest open for Corowa Aquatic Centre Consultative Committee

Federation Council is calling for Expressions of Interest from local residents to join the Corowa Aquatic Centre Consultative Committee.

Federation Council, located within an agriculturally rich and diverse area on the border of New South Wales and Victoria is home to thriving and diverse communities of Corowa, Howlong, Mulwala, Oaklands, Urana, Balldale, Boree Creek, Buraja-Lowesdale, Coreen, Daysdale, Morundah, Rand, Rennie and Savernake.

Federation Council Mayor, Patrick Bourke advised the committee is being established to enable Council to engage with the community and stakeholders in relation to the operations of the Corowa Aquatic Centre.

Mayor Bourke notes “the Corowa Pool Consultative Committee was established in 2018 to assist Federation Council with community consultation for the development of the new Corowa Aquatic Centre. This Committee was instrumental in assisting Council with the design of the new facility.

“Now that the facility has been built, Council has revised the Consultative Committee Terms of Reference to focus on the service delivery and operations aspects of the centre to ensure it meets the needs of the community and is managed in an effective and efficient manner.”

Initially the Corowa Aquatic Centre Consultative Committee will focus on the following key strategic goals within the Corowa Aquatic Centre Business Plan 2022-26:

  • Optimising the financial performance of the facility.

  • Growing membership, participation, events, and attendance to the facility.

  • Providing quality programs and activities for all user groups.

  • Strengthening the promotion and marketing of the facility.

  • Providing a safe and well managed facility that everyone can enjoy.

The committee will meet six monthly in May and November at a place and time as decided by the committee. The committee may decide to hold additional meetings as required throughout the year as required.

Those residents interested in expressing their interest to be a part of the committee are encouraged to complete the online form or submit a paper copy form to any of our Council offices in Corowa, Howlong, Mulwala and Urana.

Expressions of Interest nominations are now open until 5pm, Friday 30th September 2022.

Further information about the committee including the Terms of Reference and online nomination form are available from Council’s website.
