Experiential travel expert joins Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort

Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort has announced the arrival of its new General Manager, Michael Robinson.

Commencing at the 11-acre urban escape on the Chao Phraya River this month, the New Zealand national brings with him a wealth of hotel experience spanning the USA, Middle East and Asia.

Joining the property from FCC Angkor by Avani in Siem Reap, where he worked as General Manager from 2020 driving revenue through game-changing storytelling and guest experiences, Robinson will oversee all operations at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort, including 281 guestrooms and 95 suites, 11 restaurants and bars, luxury river cruise Loy Pela Voyages, Anantara Spa, BDMS Wellness Clinic Retreat and extensive meeting and event facilities.

Prior to taking the helm at the historic Minor-managed property in Cambodia, Robinson led the team at the Caravelle Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He joined the property in 2016 as Director of Rooms and was promoted to his first General Manager role there the same year.

Robinson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Hotel Management from the International College of Hotel Management (ICHM) in Adelaide, South Australia and a Swiss Hotel Association Diploma of International Hotel Management.
