Event management company swaps lanyards for wristbands at industry conference

Event management company cievents recently partnered with event technology provider PixMob to incorporate wearable technology into a Sydney sales conference.

The 2,200 delegates were given PixMob’s KLIK wristbands to wear throughout the conference as alternative to traditional identification lanyards.

Event Director Angela McDonald said the client wanted the event to be digitally-led.

McDonald explained “the idea of a printed name badge with a lanyard is a bit outdated (and) we were trying to be on the front foot so that the very first touch point with the attendee when they arrived started as a digitally-led experience. KLIK was the best product to do this and meet our customer’s brief.”

The embedded beacon technology captured information about the conference attendees that will be used to gauge the event’s success and improve future conferences.

McDonald added “we used the beacon technology to tell us who actually attended the sessions, without us having to scan or do anything.”

In addition to capturing information, the KLIK wristbands used LED lighting to illuminate the bands of award winners in their chosen colour.
