Ekka 2013 tickets now on sale
Tickets have gone on sale for Queensland's largest and most loved community event - the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) - which runs from 8th to 17th August.
Royal National Association (RNA) of Queensland Chief Executive Brendan Christou said his message to Queensland families to plan ahead, buy early and save, stating "new ticket bundles, add-ons and special event tickets for Ekka 2013 allow (visitors) to customise (their) Ekka day out and save in the process.
"We're investing an additional half a million dollars in a new professionally produced night show Ekka Nitro 360 to entice visitors; alongside new daily entertainment features around the showgrounds, with more to be revealed over the coming months.
"Ekka 2013 will also be the first opportunity for Queenslanders to enjoy the stunning new Royal International Convention Centre with high end fashion, food and wine; canine best in show competition and Queensland's best fruit and vegetable exhibits.
"Research tells us that people come to the Ekka for very different experiences - some people love the animals and rides and others prefer to pop in to enjoy the food, wine and fashion -which is why we have added flexibility to our ticketing, so (visitors) can pick and choose."
One of last year's most popular ticket options, the Ultimate Family Bundle, is back again with more value including entry for two adults, two children, four meals and drinks, and a huge $80 ride card, at a cost of $155 if bought before 3rd June.
Christou said the RNA had listened to feedback and improved on this bundle by introducing children's food options and the ability to add extra children, while also increasing the ride card value from $60 to $80.
He added "we've also introduced a new Foodies Seafood Indulgence Bundle and a Date Night bounce back ticket, so Mum and Dad can come back without the kids.
"Buying early and pre-planning gives you fast and exclusive gate and ride access so you can make the most of your day as soon as you enter the gates in August."
