Ecotourism Australia encouraged by sustainable tourism demand at ATE23
Ecotourism Australia has advised that more than 100 ECO certified operators and four ECO Destinations presented at ATE23 on the Gold Coast, highlighting their global standard sustainability practices to global buyers.
ATE, with 2,300 buyers and sellers attending this year, is Australia’s largest travel distribution event. Resoundingly, Ecotourism Australia’s ECO Certified operators have reported buyers are leaning in and proactively asking about eco and sustainable tourism practices and certification, highlighting the global shift in travellers seeking responsible travel opportunities through operators with recognised credentials.
Ecotourism Australia were also delighted to see Tourism Australia profile their ECO certified operators' certification logos on their booths to increase awareness and help buyers choose responsible travel experiences in Australia.
The Ecotourism Australia team also saw an interest among businesses to start their sustainability journey through their Strive 4 Sustainability Scorecard and certification programs.
