Dunedin Venues manager reappointed to international Stadium committee
Dunedin Venues Commercial Director, Guy Hedderwick, has been reappointed to the Stadium Programme Committee of the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM).
The IAVM is a global organisation committed to the professional operation of arenas, stadium, convention centers and other venues as well as providing leadership development, education and research and resources for the industry.
The Stadium Committee has 12 members and represents the global interests of stadia with a primary focus to encourage and equip professionals in the discipline of stadium operation and management.
Hedderwick is thrilled to have been reappointed to his IAVM role, stating "the Committee has been a great sounding board over the last three years at what has been a very poignant time for us here in Dunedin.
"I've been able to share views with my peers from Stadiums all around the world. At the end of the day we're in the business of selling experiences so being able to stay on top of the latest in venue technology and developments in customer experiences has been incredibly valuable."
IAVM Chairman John Bolton thanked Hedderwick for his services of the past three years and noted in the reappointment his contribution to the Venue Connect website and the valued blog posts.
Bolton stated "Guy, is the only member of the committee outside the US, I thank him for his contributions, dedication and volunteerism to our profession."
Hedderwick takes responsibility for the ongoing stadium education through the IAVM blog on Venue Connect, with his blog the most read blog by venue managers.
His reappointment will take his service to IAVM through to July 2015.
Paul Turner, Director of Operations and Event Services at Dallas Cowboys Stadium, chairs the committee.
