Dunedin City Council invites community feedback on Logan and Mosgiel parks

Dunedin City Council is inviting its community to provide input on the future of Logan Park and the Mosgiel Recreation Area to help shape draft management plans for the parks.

The area includes Mosgiel Memorial Gardens, Mosgiel Memorial Sportsground, the Silverstream Esplanade Reserve and Peter Johnstone Park.

DCC Group Manager Parks and Recreation Scott MacLean advised “we want to understand what people think about these parks, how they use them, what they like and don’t like about them, what the biggest issues are, and what activities they would like here in the future.

“This feedback will help us make good decisions about how the parks are used and protected. The plans we prepare will reflect what Dunedin people value about these spaces.

“Logan Park is a sport and recreation hub, providing facilities for a wide range of organised and informal sport and recreation activities and events.”

“The Mosgiel Recreation Area provides facilities that support a wide range of sport and recreation activities and events and includes a memorial garden, destination playground and a skate park.

People will also be able to have their say on draft management plans for the parks later in 2023.

Submissions can be made at www.dunedin.govt.nz/council/currently-consulting-on until Monday, 29th May 2023.
