dormakaba expands entry management options with Alvarado acquisition

Switzerland-based dormakaba, one of the world's leading companies in the global security and access solutions market, has announced that it is to acquire Alvarado, the US-based manufacturer of turnstiles, gates, queuing and asset protection products.

With brands such as Dorma, Kaba and Best in its product portfolio, dormakaba and its cooperation partners are represented in over 130 countries worldwide.

A statement on the acquisition from Alvarado announced “the acquisition is a highly complementary transaction for both companies. For Alvarado, it expands our product portfolio and opens access to the resources and support of the dormakaba global organisation.

“Most importantly, we will continue our long-term commitment and dedication to our customers. Our management, sales and support teams and product lines will all be retained, and we can assure you that your Alvarado contacts, available products, support, and service will remain the same.”

After the acquisition, Alvarado will continue to operate and manufacture products at its facility in California.
