Doors open at Hutt Indoor Sports complex

Construction of a new indoor multi-sports complex at Hutt Park to the east of New Zealand's capital is complete and the facility is already welcoming visitors.
The new facility boasts seven indoor courts, a Junglerama adventure playground, and a licensed caf.
Lower Hutt Mayor Ray Wallace describes the new complex, operated by Wellington Indoor Sports, as a real asset for the city, stating "it has the lot top quality courts for indoor sport enthusiasts, a fantastic children's area where parents can interact with their kids and a caf which is going to be ideal for both families and business meetings."
Award-winning local construction company Armstrong Downes Ltd led the design and construction of the project.
The opening of the complex is also a great example of the city's Seaview Gracefield 2030 Vision coming to life.
The vision recognises Seaview Gracefield as an important business, industrial and commercial. It captures the current issues and future ideas of the Seaview Gracefield community and looks at:
ï¾ Providing stability and efficiency to support existing businesses;
ï¾ Creating a suitable environment for the growth of new/emerging businesses;
ï¾ Making better use of recreational opportunities;
ï¾ Contributing towards a better environment.
The addition of a new indoor sports complex certainly looks set to reinvigorate recreational opportunities in the area.
