Standards Australia publication aims to ensure sport facilities aren't left in the dark

Standards Australia has recently revised its Standards in the AS 2560, Sports lighting-specific applications Series to help ensure that your sports venues are appropriately lit.

These new editions provide specific requirements for all codes of football, swimming pools and bowling greens:

AS 2560.2.3-2007, Lighting for football (all codes)
AS 2560.2.5-2007, Swimming pools
AS 2560.2.8-2007, Outdoor bowling greens

Standards Australia explain that ensuring the lighting at any sports venue is safe and up to the appropriate standard is paramount. Sporting venues with inadequate lighting structures not only make participating in the poor light difficult; it can also prove to be dangerous for participants and spectators alike.
