Developing Western Australian community to include fitness and events park

A new community in northern metropolitan Perth is set to benefit from an innovative fitness and events park.

Set to open before the end of the year, the Alkimos Beach Fitness Park will feature a series of uphill fitness modules that form a circuit within the park, with markers to indicated different circuit lengths and a grassed amphitheatre ‘cool down’ zone.

Other features include shaded play elements for children including a universally accessible swing and a slide near the cool down zone.

Located 40 kilometres north of the Perth CBD, Alkimos Beach is a planned ocean side community.

The fitness park will form part of a much bigger ‘Hike and Bike’ trail, with interpretative signage and a children’s bike safety course due to open as of 2019.

The park and recent installation of floodlights at Leatherback Oval are part of Lendlease and LandCorp’s bid to create a sports and wellbeing hub within the community.
