Country Road launches Active wear range

With traditional fashion brands constantly looking at new markets, mainstream fashion retailer Country Road has entered the active and sports wear market.

With research* showing the the athletic apparel sector growing at a rate of 8.3% year-on-year from 2006 to 2012, Country Road's new ACTIVE line is described as "a range of high-performance, technical activewear for the fashion conscious".

The newly launched range says it "considers how women want to move, delivering a collection that balances style and function."

Explaining that the launch into activewear was a natural progression for the brand, Country Road Managing Director Sophie Holt states "wWe are so excited to launch Country Road ACTIVE.

"The range seemed like a natural progression for Country Road, strengthening our lifestyle offering and giving our customer another way to live with the brand. The product offers the perfect balance of style and function, with a focus on great colour and high performance fabrics.”

Made for high intensity workouts, Country Road ACTIVE pieces are seamless, supportive and fashionable. To meet performance and climate expectations, breathable organic cotton and quick drying materials draw moisture away from the skin while thermal and windproof fabrications protect against the elements.

A focus on fashion shines through with bright hues and flashes of neon. Metallic highlights and geometric prints are on point for the new season, mixed with sporty perforations and mesh. Expect cool shades of mint and neon orange worn with pale grey and fresh white.

A promotional campaingn for the new brand is neing fronted by Australian high-jump champion Amy Pejkovic.

Country Road ACTIVE is available from Country Road stores nationally.
