Cool Winter Festival Heads to Sydney's Carriageworks

Sydney will host a glittering European-style winter market with the CarriageWorks' first ever Winterland festival.

Throughout July, the old Eveleigh rail yards in the emerging Redfern Waterloo precinct in Sydneyâs inner west will be transformed into a winter festival featuring an indoor ice rink; live music; a design, arts and craft market; food stalls serving alpine cuisine; dancing and a range of family activities.

From 5th to 31st July, during NSW school holidays, the indoor ice rink is set to be an all-weather activity to keep children happy.

Entry onto the ice rink is inexpensive (costing $12.50 for a 45 minute session between 11am and 5pm and $16.50 for a 45 minute session between 6 and 10pm), and sessions can be pre-booked.

Weekends will see the unique art and design stalls of the Winter Market, curated by The Finders Keepers, while Thursday, Friday and Saturdays evenings will heat up with a series of themed live music nights featuring the best local, emerging and established bands and DJs.

Opened in January 2007, CarriageWorks has been developed by the NSW Government through Arts NSW as a home for contemporary arts and culture in Sydney.

Built on a vision of a vibrant cultural life for Sydneysiders and artists, itâs a place for creativity and innovation, where artists are given the opportunity to conceive, develop and present their work in an inspiring and creative atmosphere.
