Conventions and Events Flourish at Expanded HKCEC

Conventions and events are benefiting from the additional space made available through the second expansion of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
Opened in 2009, the venueâs all purpose-built exhibition space, along with multi-purpose spaces including the Centreâs Grand Hall and Meeting Rooms, can host the largest of events such as this weekâs Hong Kong Jewelry and Gem Fair which is recording a high of nearly 2,000 exhibitors and over 40,000 visiting buyers.
The additional space at HKCEC not only allows established exhibitions to expand but also makes possible multiple events to be held concurrently. Evidence of this came earlier this month, when the Centre hosted five major events during the same period.
HKCEC Managing Director Cliff Wallace explains that âthese successes confirm once again the
justification of the latest expansion to the HKCEC and demonstrate the support of organisers and visitors to the Centre. The HKCEC continues to be the venue of choice in Hong Kong. I am hopeful that we will be able to expand the HKCEC further at some reasonable time in the future to aid our current clients in the continual growth of their events and to accommodate
demand for new events.?
The HKCEC is managed and operated by Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (HML), a private professional management company.
The HML is a member of NWS Holdings Limited. NWS Holdings Limited, the infrastructure and service flagship of New World Development Company Limited.
