Consultancy to 'revive the soul' of sport and recreation

Sue Marriage, until recently the Director of Sport and Recreation Services for the ACT Government and the current National Deputy President of Parks and Leisure Australia, has established a new consultancy, Soul Revival.

Having held one of the most influential bureaucratic roles in Australia responsible for sport and recreation, Sueâs establishment of Soul Revival is based on a desire to strengthen communities by keeping everyone active, healthy and socially engaged.

However, Marriage "explains that âtoo often this goal can get lost or diluted by the need to focus on practical business needs and demands.

"In Canberra, Soul Revival (will be) available to respond to the local business needs of the ACT sport and recreation sector and those interested in providing community sport and recreation programs, facilities and events.

"Soul Revival wants to solve business dilemmas quickly so clients can get back to the real passion of their activities - work that really does 'revive the soul' of their organisation. To do this well, Soul Revival has been researching the specific business needs of many local community organisations for some time to target its services at a community price."

Soul Revival offers two specific services which are available to Government, all sport and recreation organisations, industry bodies and commercial operators and developers in the ACT and surrounding region. Its business strategist services offers Soul Revival as a mediator, social or project planner, negotiator, deal broker, business analyst, policy writer or product marketer. Soul Revivalâs business support services offer the consultancy as a ghost writer and/or facilitator of governance and important business plans.
