Conference to explore US$7.88 trillion adventure tourism market
With the adventure tourism industry generating revenue of US$7.88 trillion in 2015 and with forecasts that the market will grow at a rate of 46% between 2016 and 2020, a new event, the Adventure Travel Conference and Mart (ATCM) is to cover adventure tourism opportunities.
Being held from 1st to 4th April in the Chinese city of Luoyang, the Conference will bring together pioneers, thought leaders and change-drivers who are shaping the emerging landscape of the adventure travel industry.
Backed by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), the conference program ties together topical issues in adventure travel under the theme 'Create, Connect, Conserve'.
Topics include:
• One Belt, One Road - the Ultimate Connector
• Connecting destinations to information: the Adventure Travel Development Index
• Tourism as a tool for Conservation
• Creating new boundaries of adventure tourism
• Create, Connect, Conserve: The case study of Luoyang
Apart from the one-day conference, ATCM 2017 offers a two-day consumer expo will also be held alongside ATCM 2017 and offers a wide array of exhibitions showcasing the latest in outdoor adventure tourism services and adventure sports gear and equipment.
ATCM 2017 also offers the opportunity to meet face-to-face with adventure product buyers and sellers across the world including state, regional and local tourism agencies from established and emerging markets, unique accommodation providers, and tour operators.
The event is organised by PATA in conjunction with the Henan Provincial Tourism Administration and the Luoyang Municipal People's Government, and is executed by the Luoyang Municipal Tourism Committee with Beijing Sunny International Communications Ltd.
