Cohera-Tech supplies visitor counting, tracking and analysis for facilities

New technology that counts, tracks and analyses visitors and their behaviour at aquatic and recreation facilities, libraries and museums and galleries is aiding management decision-making.

With facility and venue managers identifying the need for accurate information on the use of the centres and the importance of understanding how facilities are being used, Cohera-Tech has been installing its systems for clients, particularly in local government, around Australia.

The technology counts the numbers of people and visitors making use of assets and, in real-time, the data and reporting information is delivered to selected staff via their smart phones and tablets, with alerts on key tracking areas where necessary.

A Cohera-Tech statement advises “we, use high quality 3D sensors linked with our cloud based reporting and analysis systems (and), being cloud-based, real time and historical reports are available to staff via any tablet, smart phones or computer with internet access wherever they may be located.

“Reports are also generated covering the number of people in the venue at any point during the day, allowing staff to be rostered for peak times and for safety considerations, like swimming pool capacity, to be addressed with automated ‘alert’ messages to responsible staff.”

Aquatic Centre Managers using the Cohera-Tech system have reported the following results:

The Cohera-Tech adds “(our) counting system has proved to be an accurate and effective way of monitoring visitor numbers and of tracking them once in the facility.

“One of the major benefits of the Cohera-Tech system is the capacity to schedule centre staff rosters to meet anticipated visitor numbers based on past data. This improves as additional data is collected in coming years.

The reporting system has a fully customisable Dashboard that can include real time occupancy display for each centre as well as specified zones. The system can also provide fully configurable reports of customer traffic for the centre and specific areas over user configurable time frames including optional comparison time frame.

Clients include the City of Sydney, Brisbane City Council, Victorian Government, City of Joondalup, Blacktown City, Toowoomba Regional Council, City of Gold Coast, Queensland Government, Cumberland City Council, City of Palmerston, Latrobe City, Bundaberg Regional Council, City of Albany and City of Greater Dandenong at facilities including the Geelong Leisurelink, Glen Eira Aquatic and Leisure Centre, the Goldfields Oasis in Kalgoorlie, Waves Leisure Centre, Wyndham Aquapulse and Cockburn ARC.
