Coca-Cola Arena hosts sell-out concerts at conclusion of Dubai Festival
Dubai's Coca-Cola Arena hosted two concerts in 24 hours as part of the closing celebrations of the 25th Dubai Shopping Festival with performances across two nights from regional entertainers Rashed Al Majid and Majid Al Mohandis to a sell-out crowd on Thursday 30th January while John Legend, fresh from the Grammy Awards, delivered a stunning show on Friday 31st January. Legend was also joined by Faia Younan, one of the region’s brightest talents making the two concerts a celebration of regional and international talent.
Coca-Cola Arena became centre stage for the 2020 edition of Dubai Shopping Festival’s closing celebrations, further enhancing the venue as Dubai’s home of live entertainment and continuing its vast line up of diverse content that has been a staple ingredient since the arena’s opening in June 2019.
Guy Ngata, Chief Executive of Coca-Cola Arena noted “for Coca-Cola Arena to play a major role in the 25th Dubai Shopping Festival celebrations is another huge step forward in cementing the venue into the tapestry of Dubai’s live events schedules.
“Hosting two shows, with internationally recognised artists and huge numbers of visitors in quick succession is testament to Coca-Cola Arena’s abilities to host the world’s biggest artists and a great advert for its excellent turnaround capabilities, flexibility and location.”
The annual Dubai Shopping Festival has become a key event in Dubai for residents and tourists as the city is transformed into a must-visit destination. The emirate becomes a stage for live concerts with international performers, fireworks displays, citywide raffles, a whole host of events for the family and unbeatable retail experiences.
With Coca-Cola Arena ideally located in City Walk by Meraas, surrounded by hotels, transport links and entertainment options the 17,000-capacity venue was able to demonstrate its unique ability to quickly transform from one event to the next in less than 24 hours.
Comprising of state-of-the-art load in and out infrastructure and a unique rigging solution that incorporates a roof weight load capacity of 190 metric tonnes, Coca-Cola Arena can impressively host a vast variety of live events one day to the next meaning fans in the region can enjoy regular world-class live experiences in a purpose built indoor arena for the first time.
