City of Ryde finalises purchase of Denistone Sports Club

The City of Ryde, located in the northern Sydney region, has executed a contract for the acquisition of the Denistone Sports Club at 59 Chatham Road, Denistone, purchasing the property from the Carlingford Sports and Bowling Club.

On 14th June 2024, the contract to purchase the property occurred, and Council is now the registered owner of the property.

Council staff will now commence negotiations with the bowlers with the aim of entering into a licence for up to two years to enable them to utilise the bowling greens on the site and to make arrangements for associated amenities.

During the term of the licence, it is anticipated that community consultation will be undertaken to enable Council to determine the future use of the property.

City of Ryde Mayor Trenton Brown noted "It was wonderful to meet with some of the Denistone community at the site last week and I welcome community input into the future of this important property.

"I am committed to ensuring that this vital open space and facility will remain available for our community to use well into the future."
