City of Melton opens $15 million Aintree Sports And Recreation Hub

Melton City Council has unveiled the new $15.3 million community sport and recreation precinct in Aintree with the new reserve expected to deliver a district level active open space precinct for Aintree's fast-growing community and to be home to several local sporting groups.

The reserve includes an all-abilities play space, public toilets, an off-lead dog park, a fitness trail and jogging track, a youth space with a skate park, soccer fields, a shared path network and a community sports pavilion.

The Aintree North Recreation Reserve was officially opened by City of Melton Mayor Steve Abboushi and State Member for Kororoit Luba Grigorovitch MP on 16th April 2025.

Melton City Council invested $11.9 million in the project, with the Victorian Government contributing $2 million from the Growing Suburbs Fund, and developer, Woodlea, contributing $1.46 million.

Mayor Abboushi noted "This new reserve will be an absolute game-changer, delivering a district level active open space precinct for Aintree's fast-growing community to enjoy.

"Spaces like these make it easier for people of all ages and abilities to take part in regular exercise, social connection and outdoor activity.

"I'd like to thank the Victorian Government and Woodlea for their contributions to this fantastic project."
