City of Ballarat undertakes survey to back Active Women and Girls Strategy
The City of Ballarat is currently developing an Active Women and Girls Strategy, which will hopes to improve sport and physical activity participation opportunities for females.
In developing the Strategy, the Council is aiming to capture a snapshot of current female activity, including active participation and support roles, reviewing current Council plans, strategies, management and supporting infrastructure and looking at possible barriers to participation.
Wanting to identify the current status of female participation across the City and to gain information that will assist in the development of the Strategy, the Council is inviting interested parties, clubs, businesses and individuals to undertake a survey on sport and physical activity participation for females in Ballarat.
Those wanting to take part in the Survey should to Talia Holloway-Roden, City of Ballarat Sport and Recreation Advisor at email: taliaholloway-roden@ballarat.vic.gov.au by Friday 9th October.
Under the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008, Councils are required to specify how they “will work in partnership with the Department and other agencies undertaking public health initiatives, projects and programs to accomplish the goals and strategies identified in the public health and wellbeing plan.”
