Christie Australia wins CeBIT community support award for Brisbane show
World-class audio visual experience creation company Christie has scooped the Business Award for Community Support at the 2016 CeBIT Business Technology Awards.
The award honours projects that use innovative technology to enhance communities both socially and environmentally.
Christie Australia’s submission was based on the festive ‘son et lumiere’, Christmas Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular, which showcased engaging content projection-mapped onto the façade and clock tower of the Brisbane City Hall.
The show was planned and delivered by Christie’s Australian partner, The Electric Canvas.
Frank Anzures, Channel Development Manager, Christie Asia Pacific, accepted the award at the CeBIT Australia gala dinner held at the Sydney Olympic Park last week.
Christie Australia General Manager Michael Bosworth described the win as a “proud moment” for the AV solutions company:
Bosworth commented “this is the first time that we have won a community award and we are thrilled that the Christmas Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular has benefited the community at large.
“I would like to thank the wonderful team led by Peter Milne from The Electric Canvas for delivering a top-notch show.
“It’s wonderful that the event had ignited the festive mood and fostered community bonding among Brisbanites during the Christmas season.”
This is the third time that Christie Australia's work has been honoured with an award. The company has also scooped the Innovator Award presented by the Defence Teaming Centre (DTC) - a branch of the Australian Industry & Defence Network - and the prestigious Project Innovation Award presented by Simulation Australia in 2014.
