Chimelong Expands with China's First Family Python waterslide
Guangzhou's Chimelong Waterpark is undergoing further expansion with China's first Family Python waterslide, as well as an Extreme River attraction.
By day, the Family Python's theming is a spectacle of tropical Hawaiian fun, with an impressive exit and a bold colour scheme. And by night, the spectacular serpent remains entertaining with vibrant lighting effects.
Inside the Family Python, riders get an intense adrenaline-rush, being swallowed into a 7 metre enclosed MEGAtube section, where oscillations, tighter turns and higher banks provides a multi-sensory overload for riders.
The high capacity Extreme River is supercharged with a hydraulic system to create the most waves reaching almist a metre high while accommodating over 12,000 people per hour.
Back in 2007, Chimelong opened with a phenomenal mix of attractions including a Family Boomerango, Master Blaster®, Dual Waves, AquaPlay Giant RainFortress and many other WhiteWater attractions.
As a result, it was awarded the 'Must See Waterpark' accolade by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA).
The park, which boasts a record of an impressive 35,000 guests in one day attracted 1.7 million visitors in 2010, the third largest waterpark attendance in the world and the highest in all of Asia.
