Central Coast Mariners move forward with Centre of Excellence
Having opened the first stage of their Centre of Excellence campus, including its aquatic centre and swim school, last July, the Central Coast Mariners are pushing ahead with the next stage of their campus development.
Set to be open for business in March 2016, the next stage in the Mariners’ $50 million investment into the Central Coast includes a six-storey office building.
Stage one included the Soccer5s facility, YMCA Swim School and the Mariners’ purpose built training facilities – stage two is set to be open for business in March 2016.
The six-storey office building includes two levels of medical suites; four stories of leased office space (including the Mariner’s new base); 140 additional car spaces; a café; and Mariners’ retail and merchandise outlet.
Central Coast Mariners owner, Mike Charlesworth is excited to watch the development grow, stating “construction of stage two is well underway thanks to our partners, North Construction which entails a 10,000 metre²
office block where the Mariners will of course base themselves, among other companies.
“The COE is on its way to becoming one of Australia’s finest sporting centres and the envy of the Hyundai A-League.”
Once the first two stages of the development are fully operational by March next year, stages three, four and five of the project will follow. These stages will include:
• A fitness centre
• Function rooms
• Indoor sports facility with a spectators viewing deck
• 80-room hotel and 80 serviced apartments
• Outdoor entertainment precinct and Mariners Pub
• Two additional training pitches accompanied by a 1200 seat stadium
While the Mariners will benefit from state of the art facilities, the Club’s ultimate aim is to develop a precinct that will host international and domestic football squads during training camps.
