CBS Canterbury Arena ready for major concerts this week

CBS Canterbury Arena will be fully functioning as of Tuesday 18th March after a fire in an exhibitor space on Saturday morning activated the sprinkler system.

A statement from Vbase management says the venue is currently being cleared and cleaned following the weekend incident and that it will be ready for both this Thursday's Lionel Ritchie and John Farnham concert and for Queens of the Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails on Saturday 22nd March.

The fire caused the cancellation of the Rebuild and Renovate Christchurch Home Show, which had started the previous day.

Newly appointed Vbase General Manager Darren Burden explained "the weekend show cancellation has been very disappointing for the event organisers and for all the exhibitors, and we are working to assist them to recover their equipment and products from the venue."
