Call for nominations to VMA Council

The Venue Management Association (Asia and Pacific) is calling for nominations for six pending vacant positions on its ruling Council for five 'Active' and one 'Allied' Council Members to serve for the period 2013/2014.
According to the VMA's Memorandum & Articles of Association, each year 50% of the VMA Council must retire, with those retiring members able to stand for re-election should they wish.
Nominations for the positions opened on Wednesday 6th March 2013 and close on Wednesday 27th March 2013.
The VMA office will validate the nominations and, should there be more nominations received than vacancies on Council, an election will take place.
Should there be an equal (or less) number of nominations received compared to vacancies; those nominees are automatically elected to the Council.
Should an online election be necessary this will be conducted beginning at 9:00am on Tuesday, 09 April 2013 and balloting will close at 5:00pm on Friday, 19 April 2013.
All ballots are then sent directly to an independent Auditor for counting and verification. Once this is complete an announcement of the election results will be made to the Membership.
No person shall be elected to the Council unless at the time of nomination that person has been a financial Active or Allied member of the Company for a minimum period of two years and further meeting two of the six eligibility criteria detailed on the Nomination Form.
