TAMS installs PILA AFL Goal Posts at ACT's Phillip Oval

The ACT Department of Territory and Municipal Services (TAMS) has recently installed PILA group's 15 metre/10 metre aluminium AFL goal posts as part of the redevelopment of the Territory's Phillip Oval.

After consultation with AFL NSW/ACT and ACT Cricket, TAMS have turned âFootball Parkâ into one of the premier local ovals for AFL in the ACT.

Officially opened on 22nd July for the Landmark Australian Country Football Championships, users have included the Sydney Swans Reserves and local Premier League teams. On 11th September, Football Park, for the first time, co-hosted the AFL Canberra Milk Junior League Grand Final Day.

PILA's aluminium AFL goal posts were supplied with a hinge base for easy and safe erection and removal of the posts and to allow for the multi-use functionality of the field. Feedback on the upgrade and the goal posts supplied has been entirely positive with a high level of excitement surrounding the playing of the 2010 finals matches at the new facility.

PILA group is proud to have been able to support the growth of sport in the ACT through this project and continue its strong goal post supply relationship with TAMS.

With the offseason rapidly closing in, the PILA Group's Russell Farrell suggests that ânow is a great time for councils, venue managers and sports clubs to consider upgrading their facilities.

Farrell explains "our 15 metre/10 metre AFL goal posts are available in both aluminium and fibreglass and are a fantastic way to enhance facilities and bring fields up to professional standards. However, for organisations that may be short of cash, are plenty of local, state and federal government grants that can help meet the costs of your upgrade.

"Alternatively, we have smaller sizes available and our specialised AFL staff can tailor solutions specific to all needs and budgets."
