BUMP Health and Fitness expects to reach target of 100 clubs in five years
With five new territories in the pipeline and with 60+ new leads coming in per month, the founders of BUMP Health and Fitness franchise, Calum Wilson and Ross Lucas, are expecting to expand in the pre and post-natal specialist fitness space and reach a target of 100 clubs in five years.
This expansion follows on from the investment of Anytime Fitness co-founder and Fitness Industry Roll of Honour Inductee Jacinta McDonell.
BUMP has hit seven franchises in nine months with clubs now open or soon to be opening in Dee Why, Central Coast, Gregory Hills and Kellyville in NSW, Southport and Varsity Lakes in QLD and Malvern in VIC.
The lastest BUMP franchise has opened in Southport, QLD this month with owner Rebecca Parish attracted to the club after having her first child 10 months ago.
During pregnancy Parish felt that no regular gyms catered to her changing needs and shared “I came across BUMP after having my daughter and it sparked my interest. With a baby in toe, I was struggling to get to the gym and there were very few places that offered post-natal classes. Acquiring the BUMP franchise came out of a personal need and I am passionate about providing this to women in their pre and post-natal journey and being the first of its kind on the Gold Coast, Additionally the hands on support offered by head-office has fast tracked the success.”
BUMP Southport is on track to secure 100 members in the first few weeks of operation and hit break-even early in the second month. With a strong sales and marketing plan provided by head office to quickly reach club capacity and expected ROI in year 3.
A BUMP club is set to open in Malvern, VIC in May, owned by two reformer Pilates teachers who have recognised the need and demand for pre and post-natal specific training and are capitalising on the opportunity.
Jessica McClure, Co-owner advised “after the pandemic we really needed a change, we decided we would leave our corporate jobs and start a new adventure. As two Pilates fanatics we decided to get our Reformer Pilates qualifications and take the next steps to opening our own studio. When we came across BUMP, we knew it was going to be an amazing franchise that we wanted to be a part of. “As women we understand the importance of being surrounded by supportive female energy and we see BUMP as our opportunity to bring this to our community.”
BUMP Gregory Hills will open in a new building following DA approval to open in June. Owned by a new mum who saw demand for a safe space for women and mums to come and train with confidence, and wanted to run her own successful business around her new family.
Another BUMP franchise is also set to hit the Gold Coast in Q3 this year. Owned by a former member of the founding BUMP Club in Dee Why who moved to the Gold Coast and wanted to replicate the incredible concept for herself and her new community. Following this, Q4 will see the opening of the Kellyville Club.
BUMP Health and Fitness prioritise women throughout pre and post-natal and well into motherhood and support and optimise their wellbeing as their physical needs change.
With BUMP’s target to have 100 BUMP clubs across Australia in the next 5 years, the founders are strategically growing the brand steadily to ensure the right partners come onboard and the standard is maintained across all clubs.
Calum Wilson, the co-owner of BUMP Health and Fitness notes “our executive team has created a strategic business franchise model, which can be run as owner operator or as an investor with the backing of BUMP’s professional and progressive support team. Because of this, we are vetting all interested parties to ensure we maintain a strong brand and quality across all clubs.”
