Brisbane Powerhouse joins Ticketek network
Leading ticketing, live entertainment and data analytics company TEG has announced that Queensland’s home for contemporary culture, the Brisbane Powerhouse has joined the Ticketek network.
Located in a former 1920s power station on the Brisbane River, the Brisbane Powerhouse was reborn as an arts centre in 2000.
With over 1,250 performances and events each year, Brisbane Powerhouse is one of the busiest arts venues in the Asia-Pacific region, featuring events across music, comedy, writers and ideas, dance, film, visual arts, cabaret, circus, and theatre.
Advising that he is delighted that the Brisbane Powerhouse has entrusted its ticketing and digital marketing functions to Ticketek, effective from from 1st September, TEG Chief Executive Geoff Jones stated “Brisbane Powerhouse is not only an iconic venue, it is at the heart of the city’s vibrant arts and cultural life.
“This partnership will strengthen the role of Brisbane Powerhouse by showcasing events on Australia’s no. 1 ticketing platform and helping build audiences with Ticketek’s class leading digital marketing expertise.
“I thank the Board and Management of the Brisbane Powerhouse for the vote of confidence and look forward to a successful partnership.”
Ticketek offers an unrivalled multi-channel network, innovative technology solutions, exclusive major event partners, a network of the leading venues and the most powerful digital marketing capability in Australia’s sports and entertainment industry.
Brisbane Powerhouse Chief Executive Fiona Maxwell is looking forward to the new opportunities Ticketek will bring to the venue, adding “this partnership will enable us to deepen our engagement with patrons.
“It will provide us with the opportunity to access new audiences and streamline our visitor experience.
“Ticketek have gone to great efforts to really understand our business models and ensure artists are going to be the beneficiaries.”
Brisbane Powerhouse features two main stage theatres and three additional performance venues, gallery spaces, two restaurants and bars, corporate facilities and one of the best river views in Brisbane.
The building is a cultural landmark recognised and loved for its legacy of graffiti – or what is now officially known as heritage-listed ‘aerosol art’.
Brisbane Powerhouse hosts and produces some of Queensland and Australia’s largest events, including Brisbane Comedy Festival, Australian Performing Arts Market, MELT: A Festival of Queer Arts and Culture, and Wonderland Festival.
Brisbane Powerhouse is Brisbane City Council’s leading arts performance venue helping to deliver a vibrant and creative city.
TEG have advised that Ticketholders for current events at Brisbane Powerhouse do not need to change their tickets.
New events at Brisbane Powerhouse are being progressively listed on www.ticketek.com.au from 1st September.
