Brisbane Entertainment Centre General Manager wins global excellence award

Brisbane Entertainment Centre General Manager Trish McNamara has been named one of the 10 recipients of the inaugural AEG Chairman's Medallion for excellence in venue management.

McNamara received her award at the 2014 AEG Expo in Los Angeles and was the only Australian recipient among those chosen.

The awards recognise employees who have made exceptional contributions to the global entertainment company, delivered excellence and reinforced the company's mantra of "giving the world reason to cheer”.

AEG operates across five continents including Australia where its joint venture partner AEG Ogden manages 13 venues, including the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

AEG Ogden Chairman and Chief Executive Harvey Lister was delighted with McNamara’s award, stating "it is tremendous recognition of Trish’s efforts over her career at the BEC, and is richly deserved.

"Trish has been with the BEC for over 20 years and has worked her way up through the organisation to the reach the summit as the General Manager.

“The BEC is one of the most successful arenas in Australia and compares very favourably on a global level, and Trish has made a significant contribution to that success.

"We are very proud of her."

AEG Chief Revenue Officer Todd Goldstein added “tThose selected for the Chairman’s Medallion have among the many qualities that make a great employee, exemplified excellence in performance, interpersonal communication and the ability to work within multiple departments to deliver their job and help others perform at the best level possible.”

In presenting the awards, AEG Chief Administrative Officer Kevin McDowell praised all 10 recipients saying they were individuals who set the standards for others to now follow.

McNamara said the AEG Chairman's Medallion was the defining moment of her career.

She explained “to say I was stunned and delighted is an understatement.

"It is a great honour to receive this award and I feel privileged to have been able to work for a company that has given me the opportunity to succeed.

"This award is not only for me but for the whole BEC team who have been with me every step of the way."
