BGC wins $335 million Perth Arena contract
The Western Australian Government has confirmed that Len Buckeridge's construction company BGC is to build the Perth Arena indoor stadium.
Making the announcement for the $335 million project, the WA Housing and Works Minister Michelle Roberts stated that "BGC will bring to the project a track record of excellence and value for money in construction, having undertaken many projects for the State Government," adding "the State
Government is providing a world class entertainment facility that will house a range of sporting, musical and cultural events."
The new multi-purpose indoor venue will be capable of hosting major concerts and indoor sports.
The Arena announcement comes as the State Government is under pressure to commit to a new 60,000-seat outdoor stadium, after the WA Stadium Task Force recently identified Subiaco's Kitchener Park and East Perth as the preferred options.
