Belgravia Leisure welcomes Liberal election pledge to fund Yarrambat Park Golf Course upgrades

Belgravia Leisure has welcomed a Federal election announcement from the Liberal candidate for McEwan, Jason McClintock to commit $400,000 to improvements at the Yarrambat Park Golf Course north-east of Melbourne.

With the Golf Club rapidly expanding and seeing more young golfers taking part in competitions and enrolling in lessons, the funding is intended to upgrade the driving range to improve safety for all golfers. It will also redevelop the child-friendly activity areas.

Joining WPGA qualified golf professional Jess Boyce to make the announcement, McClintock stated “I’m really excited that because of this commitment, more young people can get involved with golf, and live healthy, active lives.”

Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive, Nick Cox advised “driven by strong community ties, Yarrambat Park Golf Course has seen significant growth of late and was recently honoured with Golf Victoria’s Inclusive Facility of the Year Award.

“We are thrilled to receive this much needed support to upgrade the driving range facility, allowing us to continue to expand our offering whilst engaging with the local community. This in turn will no doubt provide a platform for everyone - including new participants - to enjoy the health benefits of golf.”

Matt Weisheit, Yarrambat Park Golf Manager, added "this announcement is an outstanding result for the local community and importantly will offer excellent opportunities for women, youth, seniors, families and newcomers to engage with and enjoy the sport.

“Golf is an excellent activity for physical, mental, and social well-being, and with the upgrade to the driving range, it will provide a top-quality facility to further foster the strong community spirit and promote healthy lifestyle opportunities for the local area.”
