Beatty Park Leisure Centre introduces FitDesk member retention system

Leading Western Australian aquatic facility the Beatty Park Leisure Centre has introduced the FitDesk member retention solution.

Having completed a major redevelopment in 2013, the facility has introduced FitDesk within its fitness club to manage all aspects of member progression from initial appointment through to the development of a personalised workout program.

The technology provides members with an online portal where they can view and track their workouts, monitor their activity metrics and communicate with their assigned trainer.

Members can access their personal fitness portal from their smart phone or from a touch screen kiosk situated within the gym.

In addition to the member portal the system includes a host of retention tools that allow clubs to identify high risk members as well as manage a multi-step member follow up and support process.

Distributed by GreeneDesk, FitDesk is a popular choice for aquatic and recreation centres due to its ability to engage members with facilities including the South Australian State Aquatic Centre, Casey RACE and the Aquarena among its long term users and advocates of the technology.

FitDesk refer to current fitness club research which indicates how members are using technology as a major factor in their choice of workout facility. A study by fitness equipment supplier Life Fitness shows that over 70% of members use some form of technology to enhance their workout experience and that over 33% of members would be willing to switch gyms to access better technology providing the cost and location were comparable.

FitDesk helps club meet this growing expectation for a high tech and entertaining member experience which helps improve levels of engagement and drive improvements in retention.

Commenting on the technology, Beatty Park Leisure Centre Manager Dale Morrissy explains "we are excited about the impact FitDesk can have on our customer support and retention”
