Battery vehicle initiative sees Tropic Wings secure Environmental Innovation Award
Tropic Wings, the leading tour company based in Cairns, Queensland, has announced its latest achievement as the recipient of the Environmental Innovation Award at the 2024 Queensland Bus Industry Council (QBIC) Industry Awards.
This recognition underscores Tropic Wings' continued commitment to environmental sustainability and innovation in the tourism industry.
Tropic Wings has been a trailblazer in promoting environmental stewardship and innovation for many years. With a mission to foster passion for nature and deliver transformational experiences, the multi-award-winning company has become synonymous with eco-friendly tourism practices.
Having been an eco-certified business for over two decades, Tropic Wings' latest initiative involves introducing 12 new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) with plans to transition 80% of its vehicles to electric by 2028.
This initiative, supported by partners such as Energy Australia and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), marks a significant step towards reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable transportation solutions.

Anderson shared "we remain committed to leading by example and inspiring others to adopt eco-friendly practices for a greener future.
