Barry's to launch ‘best workout in the world’ in Australia

US-based fitness group Barry's, whose signature 55-minute high intensity interval training (HIIT) class has been dubbed "the best workout in the world" has announced that it is to launch in the Australian market with studios to open across Sydney from September.

Having expanded worldwide with 42 locations across 18 cities including Los Angeles, New York, Milan, London, Dubai and Toronto since being founded in 1998 in West Hollywood, the group’s Australian launch is being backed by the Fitness and Lifestyle Group (FLG).

The studios will open in Surry Hills, Martin Place and a further central Sydney location with a further Melbourne studio to open in early 2019.

Barry’s Australia will deliver the renowned 55-minute (HIIT) workout which challenges its clients to achieve what they themselves refer to as, a ‘Barry’s body’. The workout experience will take place in the signature Red Room, an immersive, high-energy and motivating closed environment featuring a unique combination of inspirational instructors, mood lighting, nightclub music and dedicated Barry’s clientele.

In addition to the core workout, Barry’s Australia will feature its own Fuel Bar concept across its studios offering bespoke, locally designed and nutritionally approved shakes and smoothies.

The contemporary design of each studio will offer its own edition of athleisure and performance sportswear, while men’s and women’s change-room facilities will be stocked with luxury grooming products.

Announcing the openings, Barry’s Australia Head of Operations, Heston Russell advises “the Barry’s brand and workout have become an iconic part of the fitness industry in the United States and London. Barry’s is a fitness and lifestyle brand, and we want to bring that unique experience to Australia.

“The Barry’s model is based on delivering an unrivalled fitness product paired with a concierge-style client experience. From the time the client arrives in Studio to when they’re ready to leave, we’ve accounted for every step of their visit to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience” adds Russell.

A game changer since its inception with over 20 years of expert development, Barry’s champions a highly effective combination of HIIT through 55-minute classes. The Barry’s workout incorporates 25 minutes of interval-based cardiovascular routines on treadmills, with a further 25 minutes of strength and conditioning using free weights, resistance bands and more, followed by a 5-minute cool-down period. The Barry’s program is designed to tone muscle, incinerate fat by burning up to 1000 calories, and create a spike in metabolism for up to 48 hours after.

The workout itself is presented and designed by certified Barry’s Trainers - instructors that become the followed faces of each studio - responsible for personalising a weekly calendar of sessions that target independent muscle groups.

Core to the Barry’s brand is a premium client experience offering personalised training in a group setting and a concierge-style studio service is offered alongside high-end changing facilities, premium grooming products and the signature Fuel Bar.
