Barker Foundation Aquatic Centre Recognised for its High Standards
The Barker Foundation Aquatic Centre has recently undertaken a rigorous external audit with Swim Australia, which it successfully passed to secure its Swim School Accreditation.
Commenting on the achievement, Haydn Belshaw, Director of the Foundation Aquatic Centre, explained “the short to medium term goal for the Centre from day one was to get to the point that our program and facility was better than just ‘best practise’.”
The Swim School Accreditation scheme was introduced by Swim Australia, with the support of the Australian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association, and is primarily designed to raise industry standards, and consequently acknowledges Swim Schools achieving a high benchmark.
As part of the process six categories were examined including the facility and environment; programming; staffing and management development; customer care and services; parent education and safety.
Belshaw added “the team works tirelessly to ensure we exceed our own expectations, and are extremely proud of how we contribute to Barker and the wider community.”
The Barker Foundation Aquatic Centre is located on Sydney's North Shore.
