Australia’s BFT launches first UK studio
Leading Australian fitness franchise BFT (Body Fit Training) has launched its first studio in the UK in the Midlands city of Leicester.
Opened this week, BFT Leicester has attracted almost 200 foundation members, which the brand sees as being a positive sign of how it will be welcomed in in new markets.
Having secured a $60 million cash upfront financial injection from Xponential Fitness last year, who are now Master Franchisors in the USA and Canada, BFT’s APAC team are now focusing their energy on more launches in Australia, Asia, Europe and the UK.
They have also managed to almost sell out franchise territories in New Zealand in under three years.
David Aitchison, the new Chief Executive of BFT’s APAC region, explains “we are really excited to finally have our feet on the ground in the UK market.
“We know that having our first studio is a massive ice breaker for people to be able to get in and see what it’s all about.
“This will be the first of many in the UK.”
Aitchison, who joined the business in July, allowing founders and former joint Chief Executives Cameron Falloon and Richard Burnet to explore the UK and European markets, added “Cam Falloon has been over in the UK ensuring our first studio launch was a success.
“The interest across the UK and Europe has been huge, so we are confident that our growth into these new markets will be steady and strong.”
With growing interest in BFT from both franchisees and consumers, the business reports that memberships are higher than pre-pandemic days and their franchise sales have almost doubled.
