Australian Taekwondo and Fight HQ partnership benefits athletes, coaches, clubs and members

Australian Taekwondo has partnered with premium Gold Coast martial arts retailer Fight HQ to transform national events and grow Taekwondo nationwide, benefiting athletes, coaches, clubs and members.

In a landmark sponsorship worth over $250,000, Fight HQ will be the Official Retail Partner of Australian Taekwondo and supply the KPNP Protection Scoring System (PSS) and technical support for all Australian Taekwondo national events and competitions in a two-year deal.

Heather Garriock, Chief Executive Australian Taekwondo enthused "partnering with a brand and business like Fight HQ is another positive step for us and shows the strength of Taekwondo in Australia. We are beyond excited to welcome a dynamic and progressive brand like Fight HQ to our growing family of partners.

"Our strategic direction is to modernise, professionalise and commercialise Taekwondo in Australia. To achieve this, we must align with brands that share this vision and can support us on this journey."

"The professionalism, business model and values of Fight HQ align with what Australian Taekwondo seeks to achieve to transform the standard and culture of our events."

Over the last two years, Australian Taekwondo has worked to develop long-term strategic partnerships with local governments and sponsors who align with the association's core values and strategic direction.

Fight HQ founder Nick Atkins is equally pleased to partner with Taekwondo's national body and shares "we want to see the KPNP PSS develop throughout Australia, and we want to support and partner with the Australian Taekwondo community, from local club level to international events.

"We're passionate about aligning with combat sports that match our core values and beliefs; our aim is to contribute to building and adding value to the martial arts industry in any way we can.

"Our team lives by the guiding principle of service beyond expectations, and our product range is growing and evolving daily."

KPNP is recognised by World Taekwondo and in 2022 was the official supplier for the European Taekwondo Union, the World Junior Championships, the Manchester Grand Prix and the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Final.

Garriock adds "with many competitions now using KPNP, Australian Taekwondo needs to adapt and make the system accessible to provide athletes with the opportunity to experience both World Taekwondo recognised scoring systems.”

Australian Taekwondo members can connect and shop directly with Fight HQ from the Australian Taekwondo website.

Fight HQ will have a support and retail presence at all Australian Taekwondo events moving forward.
