Australian Sports Foundation to present sport industry chief executives briefing at NSC23

The Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) has today announced that it will stage a Sports Industry CEO Briefing in conjunction with the National Sports and Physical Activity Convention on Thursday 27th July in in Melbourne.

The inaugural Sports Industry CEO Briefing will focus on presenting a ‘State of the Nation’ regarding the latest funding trends and challenges facing the industry, and will be presented by Federal Assistant Minister for Competition, Charities and Treasury Andrew Leigh MP and ASF Chief Executive Patrick Walker.

The ASF’s commitment to stimulating additional investment into the sports industry has never been more important as sports plan for the next decade in the run-up to Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Set to reveal the organisation’s vision for supporting the industry to help itself financially over the next decade, Walker advised “the Australian Sports Foundation is delighted to partner with the National Sports and Activity Convention on this very important sports industry event.

“Our shared commitment to advancing the role of sport and physical activity in promoting health and wellbeing makes this collaboration a natural fit. We are proud to be working alongside an organisation that shares our passion for empowering individuals and communities to lead active, healthy lives.”

With Dr Leigh set to share insights and explore new perspectives that are and could be available to the industry, Walker noted “we look forward to welcoming CEOs from across Australian Sport to the Sports Industry Briefing and express our gratitude to Treasury and to Minister Dr Andrew Leigh and for his support and ongoing commitment to promoting the importance of sport and physical activity in Australia.

“We are confident that our joint efforts will lead to significant advancements in the field of sports and recreation recognising key stakeholders to drive positive change and investment in the sports sector. We are excited to be at the forefront of this collaborative effort, working together to shape the future of sport in Australia.”

This invitation only event to chairs, board members and chief executives of national and state sports organisations and peak bodies will include complementary access to the NSC Oration and the networking event afterwards.

The 2023 the National Sports and Physical Activity Convention is being held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on 27th and 28th July.
