Australian Sports Foundation eases tax time donations process
The Australian Sports Foundation has developed an end-to-end fundraising solution which allows sports clubs, schools and athletes to capitalise on Australian’s generous tax-deductible donations prior to the 30th June financial year deadline.
To assist clubs, schools and athletes, the Sports Foundation has produced a tax-time campaign template for easy implementation.
The campaign comprises a comprehensive campaign calendar, plus written marketing and social media content templates. All clubs, schools and athletes need to do is simply fill in the blanks and hit the send button.
Australian Sports Foundation Chief Executive, Patrick Walker, recommends clubs, schools and athletes commence their tax-time fundraising programs as soon as possible to maximise their donation potential prior to 30th June.
Walker advised “the end of financial year represents a great opportunity for clubs, athletes and schools to get active with their fundraising and attract much-needed funds.
“In June last year, our clubs, schools and athletes received 5,278 donations, which is almost four times more than the average number of donations received during the other 11 months of the financial year.
“The average tax-time donation last June was $3,728, which is 2.5 times higher compared to the other 11 months.
“Our toolkit provides draft emails to share, social media posts to upload and easy marketing materials to implement to enable clubs, schools and athletes to unlock and maximise their fundraising potential."
Walker said sport is a very worthy cause for end of financial year tax-deductible donations, adding “80% of Australians donate to a cause they are passionate about, and we know Aussies love their sport. Many clubs, schools and athletes struggle to raise funds for uniforms, equipment, facility upgrades, training and coaching costs, because they haven’t had the tools to properly secure donations.
“Sport is at the heart of every Australian community and the health, social and community benefits are far wider than just the on-field results. We want every Australian, regardless of circumstances, to enjoy the benefits of sport."
